Mastering Engineer Minerva Pappi

Minerva started preparing herself for a mastering career at a fairly early age of 5 moths when she expressed great interest towards her father´s tape recorder. Her mother had played her records during months of pregnancy. A probable reason why listening to music was such a dear hobby even when she was too young to use the headphones without some assistance.
The tape recorder, video recorders, cassette player, television and radio were all strong influences in 1992 when Minerva went to Lapinlahden taidelukio – an art oriented upper secondary school that had editing courses.
It was a joyful “full circle”-moment when Minerva was given the chance to start a career at Finnvox Studios  -using a tape recorder – in 1995, after her graduation.. She started as a cassette mastering engineer using purely analog system under guidance of Mika Jussila. This very same studio H was renewed for cd-mastering in 2002. Until this point Minerva had mastered albums mainly at nights because the two CD-mastering studios had been occupied by Pauli Saastamoinen and Mika Jussila during office hours. Now she was able to work day and night!

There are several pictures of Minerva
in the family photo-album where she
stands next to the same tape machine
year after another. ...In addition to those
photos where she is either listening to
the radio or watching television!
